Player Development
Our Player Development plans are geared towards making each student athlete the best player they can be through constant repetition, custom drills tailored towards each Student Athlete’s needs, film study of both current and former college and professional players, as well as, any film the Student athlete has on their own game. The goal with player development is to get as many reps as possible outside any structured lacrosse training. Also, it is to fall in love with the process of getting better and be able to track actual progress over the course of 12-months. This program is prided on accountability - since no one will be with them as they perform the program, it is on them to perform the daily lacrosse work in order to elevate their game to the next level.
The Player Development Program:
Academic Monitoring - Grades will be sent to Coaches every two weeks and kept on a sharable Google Doc to track and monitor progress - any slip-ups will warrant a meeting with Coaches and student athlete
Player Assessment - this is included at no cost if program is purchased. This will be a 30 minute in - person session where the student athlete will perform our Next Level Evaluation. Also, any film on Student Athlete will be sent to Coaches in order to properly make 12-month plan
Sign Contract of Accountability - this contract of commitment is between The Next Level Coaches and the Student Athlete - they will commit to us and themselves that they will perform the tasks assigned by the coaches
Goal Creation - there will be various sets of short-term and long-term “goals” we (coaches, Student Athlete, and family) make for the 12-month program:
1. Coaches - 3 short term(every 3 months); 3 long term (12-month goals)
2. Student-Athlete - 3 short term(every 3 months); 3 long term (12-month goals)
3. Parents/Family - 3 short term(every 3 months); 3 long term (12-month goals)
Four Custom 3 - Month Lacrosse Programs - each plan is completely custom to each Student-Athlete, no two plans will be alike. The plan will be created around the Student-Athlete’s schedule and will change and progress every 3 - months. Each plan will include but is not limited to: stick work, footwork, positional specific drills and movements, film on players that play their position and have similar style, team offense/defense, fundamental/technique demonstration from our library of videos, rest days.
Four - 30 minute meetings with Student-Athlete and Coaches - In these meetings we will discuss: lacrosse progress, clarify anything within the program, restructure (if needed), goal progression, and grade ourselves. These meetings will be either in-person or on the phone and should be done about midway through each 3-month program.
Film Study with Coaches - the Student-Athlete has the option of watching 2 full games or 4 halves with a Next Level Coach. This will be either done in-person or via Zoom on a shared screen. In these sessions, coaches will breakdown individual performance, offensive/defensive performance, and help them learn how to breakdown film.
Monthly Leadership Training - we will host leadership training. Either a Next Level Coach, thought-leader in lacrosse, high school/college coach or Professional or Collegiate Lacrosse player will give a presentation on leadership. These will be at no charge to any team members involved in the program and be done via Zoom.
Access to The Workshop - the Workshop is where we will help each Student-Athlete start understand how to reach out and speak with college coaches. Here we will practice crafting emails, mock phone calls, as well as, explain the when, how, and give some examples of what to say. In addition, you will have all the documents in “The Workshop” available to you as a resource, this includes: email template, practice phone calls, articles , speeches, presentations by us or colleagues and information available online
Trackable Google Spreadsheet - this will be shared with all parties involved and will be a real-time updated document where we can keep track and monitor: (1) Grades, (2) Lacrosse numbers - this will be labeled in the program to mark in spreadsheet, (3) Meeting - days and times, (4) film notes throughout program.
Trainer Recommendations - If desired we will help you find the top trainers in strength and conditioning, as well as, lacrosse training
